My Obsession With Disney

I think it’s safe to say that I have an obsession with Disney. Whether that be Disney movies, merchandise or parks. Up until recently I had definitely suppressed my love for Disney. I guess as a 28 year old I felt that it was something that maybe I shouldn’t still be openly obsessed with…I mean Disney’s for kids…right?

Some of my earliest memories of Disney are with my grandparents. Every Sunday my brother and myself would go to my grandparents for Sunday lunch and to spend the day with them. My grandad had started collecting Disney VHS tapes over the years for us and although they didn’t have tons of money he would always make sure that he had the latest one for us. I remember sitting there with my jelly and ice cream with hundreds and thousands and watching a movie – It was my favourite time of the week! Sadly my grandad is no longer with us but these are some of my fondest memories with my grandad growing up and I have a small selection of the videos displayed in my living room..despite not having a VHS player anymore it’s a small reminder of those happy times.

Growing up one of the highlights of being dragged on a shopping trip with my mum was visiting the Disney Store…and let’s be honest that’s not really changed! I would spend ages looking at all the dolls, plush toys and dressing up outfits. Being completely honest I still have a peruse of those items now but I am absolutely love with Disney home wear and my mug collection is growing nicely! Primark is 100% my go to shop for Disney clothing and merchandise on a budget with their PJ’s being my favourite – I find it hard to go on a shopping trip in there without picking up a new set…you can’t have too many PJ’s 😉

I have been lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida three times and Disneyland Paris twice in the past. My first visit to WDW was in 2005, then 2009 and my last visit was in 2014. I first visited Disneyland Paris with the school in 2008 and visited a couple of years ago in May 2018. My boyfriend says he has never seen me happier than in a Disney park, it truly is my happy place and I cannot wait to take him on his first visit to Walt Disney World one day soon!

Last year I was signed off of work sick for a couple of weeks and stumbled upon the Disney vlogging community on YouTube. Having been an avid YouTube watcher for years how did I not know this had existed?! I watched hours and hours on end of Disney Vloggers, started following them on social media, reading their blogs and it reignited my love and passion for Disney. Finding this community sparked the realisation that I shouldn’t be ashamed of something that brings me happiness, is my escape and that you are never too old for a bit of Disney magic!

That brings me to my little corner of the internet. Along with the current baking and lifestyle posts I have on my blog so far I will be looking to share more Disney sparkle with you going forward 🙂

Love,

Hannah ♥
